My mother asked me if I remember you. Apparently, you were my aunt—the wife of my Tito Joji. You’d give me envelopes on Christmas as well as heart necklaces on other occasions. I’m saddened that I don’t remember you, for my childhood seems like such a far away memory. I haven’t seen any of my dad’s side in years. I’m sorry that I don’t remember. It’s crazy how it kind of just hit me when my mom said, “She died last night.” May you rest in peace.
Just one of those days. I don’t know why I can’t fall asleep, but maybe it’s because I can’t. Too much to do, too little time. Time flew by today, surprisingly enough. I got both Key Club videos done: year-in-review as well as the commercial. They’re not too shabby for a first-time Vegas user. I’m trying to write my speech right now in hopes that late night thoughts will bring out the writer in me. It’s been eons since I’ve written a speech, and my bare document shows how rusty I’ve become. Hopefully, Monday won’t be too bad. I’m planning to end the day knowing all Key Club related things are finished so that tomorrow will be spent doing school work.
It’s crazy to think that it’s already been about a year since I stood in front of a Key Club meeting delivering a speech as to why I should be elected Vice President. Monday, I will be giving a speech as to why I should be elected President. People think I’m crazy for being nervous, but I am.
I hope the speech I’ll be giving on Monday will be able to top this one. Looking back at this speech, there are so many things I left unsaid. Five minutes is just not enough time, but we have to work with what we’ve got.
